Meet The Team

Trish

Trish Coultas

Trish came to Derby in 1989 having left her hometown in Grimsby, where she worked for the local newspaper on property and then later in Estate Agency business.

In 1990 she joined the Halifax Estate Agency starting as a sales negotiator, and progressing to Branch Manager of the Derby Branch.  She  had thirteen very happy years there and met some great people, including Liz and Steve.

An opportunity arose to become the Branch Manager of a busy Estate Agency in Newcastle-under-Lyme, “where is that she asked”?  Joining them in 2003, she was responsible for the daily running of the Sales and Lettings departments with a team of fifteen people.  She soon became part of a happy team, something that has always been first-and-foremost, and probably the reason fifteen years later, she was still driving up the A50 every day!

She decided to look for something closer to home and wanted the same ‘family-run feel’ to an Estate Agency, so when Gadsby Nichols were looking to fill a part-time role, she couldn’t think of anywhere better.  Trish is very experienced and customer focused, and contributes to the highly motivated professional team at Gadsby Nichols .

Steve

Steve Gadsby

Steve commenced employment as a Trainee Chartered Surveyor with Maynard & Co.  In 1975 he attended Bristol Polytechnic (now The University of West England) and was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Valuation and Estate Management enabling him to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Steve further qualified, thereafter, as a Fellow of the former Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers, and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1998.  His most recent qualification is as an RICS Registered Valuer.

Steve’s career progression continued from Maynard & Co. when this company was acquired by Prudential Property Services, for whom he became an Area Director for Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and East Staffordshire before deciding to leave the ‘corporate world’ and opened a Chartered Surveyors and Estate Agency in Derby in 1989 as Harpur Gadsby, who then merged to become Gadsby Orridge, and more latterly as Gadsby Nichols.

Therefore, needless to say, Steve has had an intimate knowledge of the Derby Residential Market for over thirty-five years and nowadays specialises in Residential Estate Agency, Land and New Homes, and Valuation.

The Residential Estate Agency department has been retained by a considerable number of local Solicitors for professional valuations, sales, and probate etc., and prides itself on a considerable amount of repeat business from former clients.

Steve Gadsby has also been retained, over many years, by a considerable number of local and national Developers for marketing and valuation advice on a number of residential developments in the area.

Andrew

Andrew Nichols

Andrew followed his Fathers footsteps into the property profession, and aside from three enjoyable years in Newcastle where he attained a degree in Estate Management, and has lived and worked within Derbyshire.

Andrew joined the Company in 2007 as Head of the Commercial Department, and is responsible for commercial agency, valuation, development and professional work, including landlord and tenant matters.

Andrew is a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and is also a Registered Valuer with the same institution, and is on a number of Bank Lending Panels providing commercial property appraisals and valuation reports.

Over the years, Andrew has been involved in a number of major projects and developments across Derbyshire and East Staffordshire, and these include negotiating the first land sale in the Centrum 100 development, south of Burton-upon-Trent, and similarly negotiating a letting of a 61,500 sq. ft. veterinary hospital, and a multi-million pound site sale to Tesco plc.

Andrews’ interests away from work include football – a passionate rams fan, occasional golf, and the odd pint of real ale.

Liz Young

Liz Young

Liz left school and joined the popular YTS scheme at a new Company called The Home Centre on Friar Gate, attending the Babington Business College alongside the placement.

After six months Liz successfully applied for full-time employment in estate agency at Arrow Estates in Debenhams.  Being their very first employee, she also assisted with the setting up of the Company.

Liz then worked for a number of alternative City Centre Estate Agents, including Maynards where Steve Gadsby was her colleague.

Liz is now employed at Gadsby Nichols, where Steve is now her boss, and has thirty years experience in estate agency, with excellent knowledge of the local area.  Liz is well respected by fellow property professionals, and receives many plaudits from Clients.

Candice Gibb

Candice started her working life with the usual Saturday and seasonable jobs, until she was able to secure a YTS placement with a local insurance company.  She attended Babington Business College and succeeded in obtaining numerous clerical and administrative qualifications, together with BTEC and NVQ’s in business qualifications.

Always wanting to further her ‘repertoire’ of skills, Candice went back to college and achieved A’ level qualifications, before returning to full-time employment with a local Engineering Company where she gained extra skills within a workshop environment, and on-site work experience.

Candice later returned to the office, gaining employment with Gadsby Orridge as a secretary, in 2004.  She has remained an extremely loyal employee, having been with the Company for over twenty years, and is multi-talented in a range of disciplines to include word processing, accounts, administration, and IT.
